We are a nation with a penchant for tea-drinking as part of our daily ritual. Through my work I explore the cup as a container of memories, recording and preserving fleeting moments within its layers.
Contemporary and simple, paper canteen cups act as witness, absorbing human exchanges. Their transient nature echoes the transience of memory. Interactions with the cup become encased within it, but only until it is disposed of. My cups embody these memories and give them permanence, long after the original vessel is gone. The disposable cup gains new significance as a vessel, as preserver of precious memories, however mundane they may seem.
